Apple Picking before Football!

I have to first start out by saying Doug makes the WORLD'S BEST APPLE PIE!!! I am not making this up, his apple pies are amazing. So, there is no better reason to make a homemade apple pie than picking our own apples, and the first Redskin game of the season, right??? I thought so!!!

We started the morning off by going to breakfast at IHOP- not original, but still good, and then we headed over to Carrigan Farms to go apple picking! Trey was so excited and kept saying, "I'm picking apples!" He had so much fun- and it got even better when he realized that he could not only pick the apples, but also eat them! It really doesn't get any better than that. Doug and I felt it was important to spend this day as a family, making memories, and being so very grateful for all the men and women that have sacrificed their lives- especially on 9/11.

I was so glad that we were able to go apple picking, since the season is so short (it started last weekend, and only lasts 3 weeks). Last year we weren't able to make it, so this was extra special! :)

The football game starts in exactly 15 minutes, so I wanted to post beforehand!
