Dan Nicholas Park
We spent the weekend with Uncle Brian and Aunt Kristyn, and Doug declared he was going to plan the entertainment! I wasn't worried at all, Doug is a great planner! We woke up early (Doug instructed us to be ready to walk out the door by 9am) and headed out to Dan Nicholas Park for the day. The weather started off rainy and overcast, but actually turned out to be beautiful by mid-morning.
Dan Nicholas Park is awesome- it has small zoo animals, a carousel, train rides, a splash pad, tons of playgrounds, a petting farm, a fishing pond,... the list goes on and on! Some highlights of the day included Carrington LOVING the farm animals, and they loved her right back. The miniature donkey was so enamored with Carrington that he decided to bite into her little shirt, and that's when I had to step in! Carrington was a little freaked out, but she bounced back quickly. For Trey's birthday, Uncle Brian, Aunt Melissa, and Rylee got Trey his very first fishing rod. He was so excited to get to use it! The best part was the end of the day when Trey got to help Doug reel in a catfish!!! Carrington adored the Carousel (it was her first time on one), and Trey had the best time feeding the ducks.
Doug announced that Dan NIcholas Park was his new "go-to" place, and if it were up to him, we would spend every weekend there! Ha!!! :)
