A Very Happy Thanksgiving!

This week was full of "firsts"- I love that when they are small, EVERYTHING is a first! We went to Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with both of our Uncle Brian's, Aunt Melissa, almost Aunt Kristyn, Cousin Rylee and Grandma and Grandpa DeEsch- along with all of the Scribners! It was a big day! We were sad to not get to spend any time with Nanijay and Big Daddy, but we'll see them at Christmas.

This weekend, Trey learned how to clap his hands (we've been practicing for about a week, and it finally came together), he figured out how to get up a step- we're still not sure if this is a good thing or not- and we loved rocking in the baby rocking chair at Nanijay's house.
Trey is also getting better and better at pulling himself up onto everything, and he thinks it is so funny to be a "big boy" and stand all by himself! It takes a lot of effort, but you can tell he is so proud!

Week 35- 'Tis the Season'- 8 Months Old!

Last Sunday, we decided to be brave and check out the Southern Christmas Show at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart. It was crazy, packed, and insane, but still a lot of fun. We got an adorable growth chart for Trey with choo choo trains and his name on it, we got some Christmas treats for Molly, and we let Trey visit with Santa!!!! He was very brave, didn't get sad at all, but definitely looked confused. We visited Santa very early this year, so we may visit him again as Christmas gets closer.

We also had lunch with cousin Evan and his Mommy, Becky. Both boys did great sitting in their high chairs for almost 2 hours! I was so impressed! At the end, we took their pictures- Evan is a great smiler, Trey on the other hand tries to "play it cool"- typical man!

Trey is crawling everywhere, and one of his favorite spots to go is under the kitchen table. This is a little bit annoying because I can't get him out easily, and he tends to "bonk" his head on the chair bars, which upsets him. Although this scenario plays out every time, he does laugh like crazy when he first gets under there (before he realizes that it's not as easy get himself out)!

Waving Bye-Bye! November 14, 2009

Trey copies everything we do, and his most recent copykat has been to constantly say the sound "Bye-Bye-Bye-Bye" and to wave, when we wave at him first. It's really adorable! I'm sorry that the video isn't that great, but it's the best I can do- for now!

On the Move and Welcoming More Teeth! Week 34

This week began with us spending all day Sunday at the zoo. It was a great start to the week! Trey is crawling like crazy now, and his desire is to go everywhere that he is not supposed to. He can be surrounded by the coolest and best toys ever, and he will still do everything in his power to crawl over to a wire and suck on it, or an electrical socket and put his finger in it. Don't ask me why, all I can say is that he has definitely been keeping me on my toes! He is also starting to "pull up", although this still takes him a long time to accomplish, so I wouldn't say he is proficient at standing quite yet :). What he has become very good at is riding on his choo-choo train. He isn't tall enough to push it with his feet all by himself, but he loves to sit on it and have Doug and I push him around the house.
Thanks to Trey's Daddy, Trey has acquired quite the taste for ice cream! This week, Doug had offered me a spoonful of his coffee flavored ice cream. As I was leaning in to take the bite, Trey also leaned in and beat me to it!!! I couldn't believe how smart, and how tricky Trey is!
At school this week, Trey made a Thanksgiving turkey with his hand and a Charlie Brown football with his fingerprints. Both pictures are so cute, and I am thankful daily for what a blessing his preschool has been for us.
Another fun part of our lives is the Mommy Group "Lake Norman Hip Mamas". I love the other girls in the group, and we have so much fun walking around Jetton Park and swinging at the playground.
AND LAST OF ALL... Trey is getting his top two teeth! The good thing is that he has been in good spirits, so I didn't even realize they were pushing their way through until today, at Gymboree, he was sliding down the slide, and I was at the bottom- giving me a different view into his mouth, and therefore seeing the white marks of teeth emerging!
All in all, this was a great week, and I am looking forward to the weekend! Enjoy the pictures!

The Asheboro Zoo!

We visited the zoo this past Sunday and had such a great time! Trey got to see monkeys, bobcats, giraffes, and all other sorts of animals up close and personal. He is getting so big and I love being able to watch him enjoy the world around him and all of the new things that we are showing him.

33 Weeks Old and PULLING UP!!!!

Well, last week was big since Trey started crawling on October 29th. I thought that was a mixed blessing, but we were all still really excited. And now, today- November 6th- Trey pulled himself up into a standing position all by himself! We can't believe what a big boy he is becoming and how smart he is! His favorite thing to chase after is Molly- in all honesty, it's not even Molly he wants- it's her TOYS! :) He is so fun, and such a wonderful little boy.

This week we also had a playdate with Ella on Monday, showed off our "new crawling moves" at Gymboree on Thursday (everyone was super impressed), and had lunch with Baby Eddie.

Looking forward to what this next week brings!

Halloween!

Halloween was extra fun this year! We spent the day going to lunch at Mimi's Cafe, where Trey chewed on oranges for the first time. I'm not sure if he loved them, but they at least kept him occupied at the restaurant. Trey also wore his "daytime" pumpkin outfit. He looked cute as a button, but I think some of the women at the restaurant and the mall may have thought he looked like a girl (MUCH to Doug's disappointment). I don't care, he didn't look like a girl, he just looked like a baby :).

For Halloween night, we celebrated with a party and a parade at our community amenity center. We had so much fun! All of the kids looked adorable, and Trey looked especially cute as a Penguin! We sent out Halloween cards this year, so lots of Trey's baby friends had already seen his costume, and wanted to come over and "see it in person".

Halloween was also daylight savings time... we kept Trey up until 9pm, in an effort to force him to sleep in the next day. That did not work out as planned, and we are hoping that this week his sleep pattern gets a little bit easier. Enjoy the pictures!!!!
